WILLIAM and KRISTEN ECKENWILER both share a passion for teaching students to read, particularly those that may be struggling. After William earned two Masters degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary, he completed his doctorate in reading instruction from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Until recently William taught reading, language arts, children’s literature and educational psychology at the collegiate level. He has left the classroom to devote his energies to The Struggling Reader, Inc. Kristen earned her Masters degree in reading instruction from the University of Central Florida. She has considerable experience in a clinical setting, and has taught at both the elementary and collegiate level. She now stays home to meet the daily challenges of homeschooling their two boys, Isaiah 13 and Simon 7. In addition, she remains very involved with parents through testing for learning differences and reading difficulties. She is much sought after for her insight into curriculum, teaching, and learning issues. In their sincere desire to help fellow homeschoolers, they have delivered workshops at a number of state conventions, as well as local groups. In addition, the Eckenwilers are active in their church and serve as co-president of their local homeschool association.Workshops - Reading: Am I Emphasizing the Right Things?
